  1. How do I search for and buy art through Africanartnow.com?
    At the top of every page, you will find a keyword search bar where you type the name of the artist you are looking for. You can also browse our art collection by going to Artists and look for artists by type of media or by country. To purchase a piece of art from an artist (the Seller), simply click the Add to Cart button at the right of the piece and follow the onscreen directions.

  2. Is it safe to buy art online?
    We guarantee that every transaction carried out at Africanartnow.com is 100% safe. Each operation, which implies the transmission of personal information or bank details, is carried out within a safe environment. Africanartnow.com uses a secure server, which uses a protocol called SSL (Secure Socked Layer) to ensure the secure transfer of information via encryption. Credit Card payments are processed separately and securely by PayPal, a trusted name and world leader in on-line credit card processing. Using PayPal, we do not see your credit card numbers. All this makes buying art on Africanartnow.com safe and risk-free.

  3. What forms of payment do you accept?
    Upon completing your purchase you have two payment options: A bank transfer or a credit card payment via PayPal. In the case you wish to select the bank transfer option you will receive an email, which, together with the confirmation of your order, will indicate the account number required.

  6. When will my credit card be charged?
    Africanartnow.com operates pre-authorization which means that no money is charged from your credit card until we have checked with the Seller that the artwork you have ordered is available. If it is not available, we will inform you. If the artwork IS available, we will authorize the payment to go through.

  7. Will the purchase be subject to Sales Tax or VAT?
    If you reside outside Denmark your purchase at Africanartnow.com will NOT be subject to sales tax or VAT. Sales to Buyers from other EU countries and United States, Canada and Australia etc. are all sales tax/VAT free. However, the customs authorities in each country will levy their corresponding charges. For Buyers from Denmark a general rule of 5% DK IMPORT VAT will apply. All businesses belonging to the EU will be exempt from tax.

  8. Do I have to pay import Tax in the US?
    Since the Sellers export the artwork directly from Africa, US import regulations requires you to pay an import tax. Notification regarding the Import/Consumption tax will be provided by the dispatch company when you receive your purchase. -Tariff for the works of art, collectors' pieces and antiques are Free for 2009.   10. What currency will my credit card be billed in?
    Africanartnow.com accepts payments in US dollars. During the checkout/online payment process at PayPal you indicate the currency of your choice. Credit cards are billed in your country’s local currency, according to the relevant exchange rate at the time of the transaction.

  11. Once I purchase a piece of art, how many days will it take to arrive?
    Artwork is typically shipped within 5-7 working days of sale. Once your artwork is shipped, the length of time required to receive your purchase depends on your place of residence and on the size of the artwork purchased. The Seller (the Artist) has various options of how they wish to ship the artwork e.g. DHL or FedEx. Africanartnow.com requires all Sellers to provide a tracking number for each piece of artwork shipped. You will receive an email with a tracking number which will allow you to see exactly when your art will arrive.

  12. How is the artwork shipped and packed?
    The purchased artwork is packed and shipped by the Seller in strong, purpose-built packages designed by the chosen carrier to protect the artworks during shipping. To reduce transport costs unframed canvass paintings that can handle being rolled depending on the paint technique / finish are put in tubes unless you request a Flat-pack. You can then have the canvass re-stretched and framed if you like upon delivery in your hometown or city. All of the artworks sold at Aricanartnow.com are packed and shipped directly from the artist’s studios and galleries in Africa.

  13. How much does shipping cost?
    Shipping charges are based on the packing materials and tubes needed to safely transport your art, and standard shipping rates. Sellers do not make money off of packaging and shipping. The Artists pass the costs directly on to you. All artwork is fragile packed by either the Artists or the chosen shipping company to insure that it arrives in perfect condition. DHL and FedEx calculate shipping costs based on the size of the package and the distance that it is being shipped. In addition, all artwork is fully insured. The total costs, including the price of the artwork and packing and shipping costs, are subject to your final approval before any changes are made.

    Yes, all artwork are fully insured during their shipping against any damage, loss or non delivery.

  15. May I return a piece of artwork if it does not meet my expectations?
    Africanartnow.com offers a 7-day money back guarantee on all artwork. In the event that your purchase does not meet your expectations, you may return it within 7 days of receiving the order. We will issue you a full refund or credit on the price of the art (excluding delivery costs) within 14 days following the receipt of the artwork, which are to be returned to Seller in the same original condition. That means that in case of return you are liable to pay the costs of shipping both ways - to you and back to the Seller (the Artist). Any artwork returned should be in saleable condition. You are responsible for the cost of returning the artwork to the Seller in its original condition and of insuring it during transit, except where the work is faulty or the wrong work has been dispatched. After 7 business days after delivery of the artwork, all sales are final. PLEASE NOTE: All sales of commissioned artworks are Final. Your’ credit card will be charged at the time an order is placed and no refunds or returns will be permitted or accepted.

  16. How do I return a piece of artwork?
    Our return process is easy. When you first receive your artwork, save the original packaging. Repackage the artwork in its original tube/box and contact us at customer@Africanartnow.com or +4522790875. We will then issue you a prepaid shipping label to affix to the box and ship from any Store location of the chosen shipping company. Items must be shipped via the chosen shipping company within ten days of receiving the order. Artwork that is returned damaged will not be refunded.

    Africanartnow.com focus is on original fine and contemporary art, and photography. Our main categories include paintings, mixed media, sculptures, photography and original prints (Reproduced items in this group are limited to 100 signed, and numbered prints from any original image.)

    We seek to give place and exposure to a large diversity of talented artists. Professional painters, photographers, sculptors, mixed media and functional art artists, both emerging and established, are welcome to submit their work.

  3. Where will I find the first step for registering as an artist?
    The best way to join our site is writing to artist@africanartnow.com, tell us about your work, you CV and summits photos of at least 5 or your recent artworks. JPG images need to be less than 500KB JPEGs. If you are accepted we will start working on your artist page.

  4. Does it take long to start exhibiting my artworks on AfricanArtNow?
    Not at all, upon receiving your application, we will review your work and notify you within 48 hours. If you are accepted you can start exhibiting you artworks within a week.

  5. Does it cost money to exhibit my artwork for sale at Africanartnow.com?
    NO. It’s free to exhibit your artwork at Africanartnow.com. We do not have joining fees or membership fees. This means that we don’t make any money unless you do. Once an artwork is sold, Africanartnow.com will charge a 25% agency fee (the commission) on the sale of your artwork. The Fee is put into our promotional activities such as online advertising on search engines like google.com and yahoo.com.

  6. How does selling on Africanartnow.com work?
    Africanartnow.com works essentially like an escrow service. We accept payment for the order immediately then contact you (the Seller) with shipping information for the customer. You then ship the artwork and provide Africanartnow.com with a tracking number. When the artwork is delivered the customer has 7 days to notify us of a return. If the artwork is not returned the order is automatically queued for payment. Africanartnow.com currently processes all payments to Sellers once a week.

  7. How do I get paid for selling my art?
    When an artwork is sold, payment will be made directly to Africanartnow.com via PayPal/Direct Bank Deposit / Bank Wire Transfer. We will then hold the funds and only release them to you as the seller once the buyer has receive their purchased artwork. This provides added safety for the buyer. You will be paid by check, moneybookers.com or through money transfer to your bank account. We wait 8 to 10 days after the customer receives the artwork to send payment. This is because we offer a 7-day money back guarantee and we wait 3 days to make sure that they are not going to return it. You can roughly figure out when we will mail your check by using the tracking number that the Shipping Company gives you to see when the piece is delivered to the customer.

  9. How do I know when my artwork is sold? How does an order work?
    When Africanartnow.com receives an international order we contact you (the Seller) and provide basic shipping information for the customer. You are then is able to get a shipping estimate from the company you feel most comfortable using. Then provide us with the shipping cost and we contact the buyer for a final authorization. If the customer authorizes the new shipping charge the order is processed, if the customer declines the higher shipping charge the order is cancelled.

  10. Who pays for shipping costs?
    On Africanartnow.com, all shipping costs are 100% paid for by the buyer. You (The Seller) have various option of how to ship the artwork e.g. DHL or FedEx. Africanartnow.com requires all Sellers to provide a tracking number for each piece of artwork shipped. If any help is needed please contact us and we will be happy to assist. Please note that Sellers have 7 days to ship their artwork to the buyer or else the order will be cancelled and voided from the system.

  11. How does the Return process work?
    Returns are allowed on Africanartnow.com and are simple and straightforward. Please note that every Seller on the site is expected to ship exactly what is portrayed on their Artist portfolio page. With that in mind, if a buyer wishes to return a piece of work they have 1 week upon receiving the piece to do so. For any questions, please consult Africanartnow.com. If a piece of artwork is returned because the buyer did not like it, 100% of the shipping charges will be at the expense of the buyer.

  13. Who owns the copyrights to my artwork once it is sold?
    You reserves all rights protected under international copyrights in all artwork purchased by a Buyer. The sale of a given artwork does not include any reproduction, replication, modification, or distribution of any art images, unless such right is expressly granted in writing by you. This is made completely clear in our Terms and Conditions which all buyers have to accept before a purchase is completed.

  14. Is there a limit to how many piece of artwork a Seller can display on the website?
    No. Africanartnow.com encourages artists to sell as many pieces as they want, but each piece of artwork listed by you has to meet all criteria with information in order to be viewed for sale on the website.

  15. If I list my artwork at Africanartnow.com, am I allowed to sell my art on my own website or by other means?
    YES! Africanartnow.com DO NOT demand the exclusive right to the artwork displayed on the website. We view africanartnow.com as simply another channel in which you can promote and sell your artwork. We encourage you to pursue physical gallery representation while exhibiting on our site, however in order to prevent the risk of selling the same piece of art to two different parties and to ensure the reputation and smooth running of Africanartnow.com, it is essential that you inform us/ update the site immediately so we can remove artworks you have sold trough other channels.
